Yesterday the price of oil went over $100 a barrel. A year ago the national average price per gallon for gas at the pump was $2.322 today it is $3.052 per gallon for regular. More alarming is the increase in the price of diesel fuel from $2.673 to $3.425 per gallon. All of those big trucks you see on the highways and around town are out there delivering goods to the stores you shop in. Natinal Price GraphThe increase in fuel costs is past on to you the consumer, thus decreasing the money you have to spend at the end of the day.

What are you going to do? Most Americans continue to complain, but do little more. That is the problem with Americans, the powers to be have sold you on the idea you are powerless to affect change or you are so selfish and self centered you do not care about the other guy. If you have watched the news lately you will see the people of Pakistan and Kenya still believe they can make change happen and are actively participating.

I am not supporting rioting and violence, but I support active participation in the world we inhabit. Whether it is deciding to drive less and not contribute to the record profits of oil companies, changing to florescent light bulbs to reduce your energy consumption and carbon footprint, or maybe not buy that extra pair of running shoes you do not need. You can affect change economically and environmentally. What are you going to do?
