There is a guy in Maine willing to pay $5,000 for a wife! Is this guy desperate? Does he have any social skills at all? Like he is really going to find a “good” woman with $5,000. I can only imagine what kind of a woman would being willing to sell herself into marriage.

The Seacoastonline.com reports 39 year old Charles Haeberle as saying,

“Everybody needs money and I have money, so I figured what the heck.”

It sounds like he is trying to purchase a wife from a third world country. Maybe he should spend his money on a hooker if he does not want an import wife.

He also said when he first moved from Key West, Florida to Wells, Maine his mother sent him to a gay and lesbian bar to meet people. Maybe she knows something he does not.

Being single I know dating can be a pain in the ass and a lot of people carry an enormous amount of baggage. In fact to move in with someone, they would need to box up the baggage and use United Van Lines to move it. But paying to find the love of your life? I don’t think so!

There is a saying in the trucking industry… “If you bought it, a truck brought it.” It is a very true statement and should be of concern to many Americans considering the rising cost of diesel fuel in the United States.

Considering most of our fresh produce and meat is brought by truck from over 1,000 miles away, how can you save money? Try buying your produce from a local farmers market, where the produce is fresh and grown locally. You will receive a better product, at a better price, support the local economy, and have less of an impact on the environment.

Below is a chart showing the rise in fuel prices for truckers from the Energy Information Administration. Check out the site to learn more information about energy consumption and fuel costs predictions.

During a recent trip I was introduced to Salad Fingers. I think Salad Fingers is a bit avant garde, but nonetheless entertaining. Here is a short clip.

Today I took a look at my server logs to see what this site’s traffic has been lately. Most postings had decent visits through direct visits and various feeds. But what is sad is the posting about Oregon flags at half-staff, that posting had the least amount of visitors.

If you think by ignoring the sad news and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan they are going to go away, you are wrong. If you think it the price of gas and the poor condition of the economy is not related to these wars, you are wrong.

The United States’ economic, political, social, and moral standings have slipped nationally and internationally to the lowest points ever. This was accomplished by that piece of sh*t Bush, his re”thug”lican cronies, and a good part of the American people blindly following along like sheep being lead to slaughter.

Check out this guy on the bicycle, he kind of reminds of Tim Allen from the Home Improvement show. There have been times late at night when I am riding my bike home from work I felt like I could use boost.

Corporal Jessica EllisToday flags will be at half-staff throughout Oregon in honor of Corporal Jessica Ellis, who was an Army combat medic and on her second tour in Iraq. She was killed in an IED explosion in Baghdad on Mother’s Day, May 11.
