Congress has passed the $162 billion Iraq war spending bill. This bill will bring the total amount Congress has provided for the war in Iraq to $650 billion since it started more than five years ago and nearly $200 billion has been spent for the war in Afghanistan.
So what has the American public gotten from this $850 billion? 536 soldiers killed in Afghanistan, 4110 killed in Iraq, and more the 30,000 wounded. Do I feel safer? No. Why? Because the re”thug”lican fear mongers are still in power, the economy is headed down the sh*tter, and there is an old white haired guy running for president that believes in a 100 year war.
And lets not forget Congress does not have the balls to step up to the plate and stop funding these wars. What else could we a spent this money on? Education, health care, cancer research, alternative energy research, and that is just to name a few.
