While Americans paid a record high of over $4 a gallon at the pump, Exxon made $11.68 billion dollars of profit. This a profit of $1,485.55 a second in the quarter. Yet in light of all this, 69% of Americans approve of drilling for off shore oil.

CNN Money.com: Exxon posts record $11.68 billion profit

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Exxon Mobil once again reported the largest quarterly profit in U.S. history Thursday, posting net income of $11.68 billion on revenue of $138 billion in the second quarter.

That profit works out to $1,485.55 a second.

How about an alternative to oil? Are 69% of Americans really that self centered and selfish? Or are Americans really that stupid? Do they care about the legacy they are leaving their children?

In the meantime while the oil company’s smile all the way to the bank and the GOP (Gas and Oil Party) blocks the passage of an important tax package for renewable energy. Whose interest is the GOP (Gas and Oil Party) protecting? Surely not the American public. Big oil and the GOP (Gas and Oil Party) must be laughing at 69% of the American who believe their bullshit.

AP: GOP blocks action on tax, renewable energy package

The bill would extend some $18 billion worth of renewable energy tax credits, helping out investors in wind and solar power, clean coal, plug-in electric vehicles and a variety of others.

Last month more than 300 high-tech and manufacturing companies warned Congress that failure to act quickly “will bring investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects to a standstill.”

Greg Wetstone of the American Wind Energy Association said Tuesday that his industry risks losing $11 billion in investment and 75,000 jobs if the tax credit expires next year.

Americans need to pull their heads out of their asses, start thinking for themselves and quit listening to the bullshit the oil company’s and GOP (Gas and Oil Party) are telling them.

Oliver Stone has a new movie called W. and it is being released in November. It is a movie about that piece of sh*t Bush. So I am wondering is it fact or fiction, is it a documentary or a comedy, or maybe it is a docu-comedy? Here is a trailer for the movie so you can decide.

I don’t know about you, but I have seen enough of Bush and I do not need pay to see a movie about the imbecile.

When the next president takes office in 2009, he will inherit an enormous national debt. For fiscal 2009 the national debt will be $482 billion. The most ever!! That does not include the cost for the war in Iraq, which will cost an additional $80 billion.

According to CNN Money: Welcome, Mr. President: Here’s the tab

Congress just passed - and President Bush is expected to sign - a housing bill that increases the country’s statutory debt limit to $10.6 trillion from $9.8 trillion. Lawmakers increased the debt limit because they’ve already made spending commitments - including additional spending on Iraq - that threatens to pierce the current $9.8 trillion ceiling.

The Concord Coalition, said the country paid $200 billion in debt interest last year alone.

Where is fiscal responsibility? Why did Congress approve so much spending when early on they knew America could not afford it? Now the American people are paying higher prices for gas, food, clothing, and the list goes on. What is next when it comes to paying off this debt?

How can any person who becomes president have a positive impact when that piece of sh*t Bush and his cronies have robbed the country blind and left us in the poor house.

Below is a trailer for a documentary on Nerdcore Rappers. They rap about comic books, role playing, and video games, while preaching the gospel about nerd empowerment. Check it out.

On the Wired blog network Listening Post: Documentary Nerdcore For Life Examines the Good, Bad and Geeky

Doing his anthropology through interviews with nerdcore rappers like MC Router, MC Lars, Beefy, mc chris, YTCracker, Monzy, MC Plus+ and High-C, Lamoureux traces the genre from its origins on laptops coast-to-coast to full-on movement trying to find its identity (and then try to explain it to everyone else).

“I got so far in –- up to my neck –- in nerdcore beef and drama,” the director says. “I got on [a nerdcore] message board to promote the film and people responded with ‘Screw that movie, you didn’t ask me to be in it.’ It’s just absurd.”

Nerdcore Rappers? I think I need to look into this. The film will be shown at the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle next month.

Oilman T. Boone Pickens has a commercial running about our oil consumption. In it shows where we have come from and where we are going. If his facts are correct, then it is amazing and alarming in how we consume energy and export our wealth in this country. The commercial also leaves me wondering where Pickens is going with this? I found this copy of the commercial on YouTube.

Today Professor Randy Pausch passed away at age 47 from pancreatic cancer. He unintentionally became famous by giving a lecture on September 18, 2007 at Carnegie Mellon. The lecture is available online, has been watched by 10 million people, and translated into seven languages.

“Cancer didn’t change me at all,’’ he said. “I know lots of people talk about the life revelation. I didn’t have that. I always thought every day was a gift, but now I am looking for where to send the thank you note.’’ - Professor Randy Pausch

Our days get loaded with stuff to do and sometimes we get caught up in what I call the “speed of life”. We forget to enjoy the little things, which in the end seem to make the biggest and most positive impact on us.

Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates and New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg have donated 125 and 375 million dollars respectively to stop people around the world from smoking.

New York Times article: Billionaires Back Antismoking Effort

It will urge governments to sharply raise tobacco taxes, prohibit smoking in public places, outlaw advertising to children and cigarette giveaways, start antismoking advertising campaigns and offer people nicotine patches or other help quitting.

I like the fact there are people with money who want to use it for good purposes, but I also wonder if there are any other motives; particularly with Bloomberg being a politician.

On a another note… is it me or does McCain look like he is angry little old man when he talks about Obama? Is it Obama which is pissing him off or is it he realizes he finally gets his shot at being president and he knows he does not stand a chance? Or could be he knows he is the Republicans sacrificial lamb, because they know he won’t be able to run again and the re”thug”licans are saving their best for another election?

I like this sign. Bicycle friendly community and they have a crime watch going. Does this mean you can ride through  without worry of being hit by a car, but you could get mugged? :-)

Why is a fish pedicure news? Because it is new, strange, or the media talking heads and their handlers do not want you to hear what is really going on. Or could it be Americans are so self indulgent this makes fish pedicures news?

On CNN: Pay to have fish nibble the skin off your feet

Ho believes his is the only salon in the country to offer the treatment, which costs $35 for 15 minutes and $50 for 30 minutes. The spa has more than 1,000 fish, with about 100 in each individual pedicure tank at any given time.

Some people have too much time and money.
