More children than ever have Type2 Diabetes and most of these cases of diabetes are caused by obesity. If your kid is fat it is your fault.
As an parent it is your responsibility to guide your children to make the correct choices. If you are fat, it is your fault and you are a living example to your children. All the excuses you come up with won’t change the fact your ass is fat, you made it that way by inappropriate decisions on food and exercise and your kids are inheriting the same behavior from you. If you are not fat and your kid is, it’s still your fault.
USA Today: Number of kids on medication jumps alarmingly
The number of children who take pills for type 2 diabetes — the kind that’s closely linked to obesity — more than doubled from 2002 to 2005, to a rate of six out of 10,000 children. That suggests that at least 23,000 privately insured children in the USA are now taking diabetes medications, according to authors of the new study in today’s Pediatrics.
Diabetes is an ugly silent disease. It can take away your eye sight, force you to have amputations, give you heart attacks and strokes. The average diabetic lives 10 years less than a normal person. Is this what you want for your child’s future? Get off your fat ass and do something about it!!

The Pew Internet & American Life project has a new report out titled: Networked Familes and goes on to report how cell phones and the Internet keeps families more connected.
In the report:
American families are using a wide range of communication media to keep in contact with each other. Married couples with minor children stand out because they have higher rates of internet and cell phone usage, computer ownership and broadband adoption than other household configurations.
I know from my own personal experience technology has kept my me in touch with my son far better than traditional communications. During his deployment in Iraq we communicated several days a week using the Internet for IM and email.
Later after returning he said it was being connected to family while being in an environment where most people wanted to kill you by blowing you up or shooting you made life better for him and other soldiers during their time in Iraq.
The report has many interesting facts and may shed some light on how you, your children, and other family members use technology to support and foster relationships.

Recently UCLA scientists reported searching the Internet is good for the brains of middle-aged and older adults. They said keeping the mind engaged helped preserve brain health and cognitive abilities.
While I am glad to see researchers are looking into the affects the Internet and computer use have on the brain, I would like to see more studies on how computer use and the use of Internet has had on school age students. How does a student find information and do they know how to differentiate between what is a quality or poor resource of information they have found using Google or similar search tool? Do students know how to use the library and the invaluable resource they have in the research librarian?
I think with all of the tools available to students they tend to go with what they think is the easiest, but not necessarily the best resource for finding the quality information they need. Below is a link to a tutorial on how to find and evaluate resources on the Internet.

Why is the government so quick to bail out the rich on Wall Street, but have done little to nothing to help out homeowners on Main Street? While the average American has suffered with higher prices at the pump, grocery store, and just about everywhere else, the piece of sh*t Bush administration has done nothing but stand on the sidelines and spew rhetoric with little or no action.
Now they are want to take our tax dollars and reward the greed of the rich by having the American public bail them out. Nothing has been done to help the average American. While countries like China have oil subsidies to keep oil prices down the Bush administration has done nothing! There is a housing crisis because of greed from predatory lenders and what has been done about that? Nothing!
During this time CEO’s have been making millions of dollars in golden parachutes and bonuses as rewards for their greed and the raping of the American economy. How about if Congress helps out the American on Main Street first? Don’t you think if the average American has stability in the home budget they will be more likely to spend some of their hard earned wages, thus stimulate and support the economy?

All Palin would need to do is exchange God for Allah and she would sound like another extremist. Wait a minute, she sounds like one and is an extremist!!! A Christian extremist.
On CNN: Pastor: GOP may be downplaying Palin’s religious beliefs
Speaking of the troops in Iraq, Palin says on the video, “Pray for our military men and women who are striving do to what is right. Also for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for — that there is a plan, and that plan is God’s plan.”
Yeah right!!! I am sure it was in God’s plan for that piece of sh*t Bush to lie to the American people and the rest of the world before he attacked Iraq. For some reason I don’t think God approved of Bush’s lies.
Why do we only hear about Palin and not McCain?? Isn’t McCain the one who is running for president? Looks like another re”thug”lican smoke and mirrors scam to keep the American public from looking at the issues. They sure are good at selling fear and religion. When is the American people going to stop buying into this?

VP candidate Sarah Palin’s 17 year old unwed daughter is pregnant. WOW!!! No surprise there. Maybe if the mother of 5 spent more time with her children she should have instilled those so called family values she supposedly has. Did she pursue her own interests instead of putting the interests of her family first?
CNN is reporting: Teen daughter of GOP VP pick is pregnant
Republican presidential candidate McCain was aware of Bristol Palin’s pregnancy before he chose her mother for his running mate, the aide said.
So if McCain knew this before the announcement why has it taken so long to come out. Why wasn’t there an earlier announcement to the public or something about it in Palin’s family bio? Could it be McCain was worried about how it would look to the religious right or is he so feeble he thought no one would notice? Did the re”thug”licans think they could hide this until November? Looks like a case of lying by omission and shows McCain is just like that piece of sh*t Bush.

Who’s idea was it to create mother’s and father’s day? Shouldn’t we treat our parents good everyday? Every time I visit or speak to my son is father’s day for me. I just enjoy his company any day, as I am sure he enjoys mine.
My dad and I have a tradition of simply greeting each other with a smile and a hug. Then we laugh about all of the hoopla over the day. I think gifts for the day are for those who feel guilty about how they treat their father. I live close to my dad and I have lunch with him a couple of times a week, go places with him, play games and enjoy his company. I am going to give him a call, wish him happy Father’s Day and then we will enjoy another laugh together.
