I thought I was going to arrive in time for lunch only to get there in time for dinner. We had mechanical problems in Portland, so they had us taxi back to the gate and board another Hawaiian flight heading to Maui. I always wanted to go to Maui but not like this. After arriving in Maui there was little assistance in locating where we needed to go to continue our journey to Honolulu, so everyone seemed to have the herd mentality and followed someone they recognized from the flight. After asking a couple of customer service reps for the airline and couple wrong instructions we finally located where we need to go and made it to Oahu. During the whole process all the airline people could say is Mahalo and smile like they were stoned. Thank you for visiting Expressing Opinions. Here is a short video clip of us in a shark cage off the North Shore of Oahu. It was amazing to see 20 to 30 sharks swimming all around you and passing within inches. We had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to doing it again when I visit Hawaii in June. Thank you for visiting Expressing Opinions. When I was in Hawaii I decided to go in a shark cage off the North Shore of Oahu. There were at least 20 sharks circling in the water and once I was in the cage I had them swimming all around me and passing within inches. I was a way fun experience. This first photo is of the sharks on the surface and the following is one of the many I took while in the water. I’ll post more photos later.

But until I leave I think there is time to swim in the ocean and catch another wave. Thank you for visiting Expressing Opinions. I am not a casual tourist when it comes to visiting Hawaii. My son lives here, so I try to visit 3 to 4 times a year, and stay at least 10 days each time. What bothers me each time I am here is Japanese tourist visiting the Arizona memorial. It just feels wrong allowing people from a nation who started a war to visit the grave of our fallen servicemen. Thank you for visiting Expressing Opinions. Today I hiked Diamond Head. Took a lot of photos, enjoyed the views, and can not wait to get home to see the videos and photos. Today I continued to be a tourist and toured the U.S.S. Missouri. Saw where the Japanese surrendered and read the documents. I had a fun day. Yesterday I visited Pearl Harbor and took the tour to the Arizona. There were survivor’s of the attack there who chatted with the people and retold their account of the attack. Pretty amazing. I will post photos when I return home and process them. He is fun to have around, however I am having a difficult time adjusting to someone around waiting for me to come with ideas on things to do. Waves were big on the North Shore yesterday and the beaches and parking filled up fast. Sunset Beach is where I ended up and spent most of the day making friends with a couple of locals. One guy had one arm missing, surfed better than most… and no I did not ask how he lost his arm. Thank you for visiting Expressing Opinions. |
